Inês Capela
About Me
My name is Inês Capela, and I am a Clinical and Health Psychologist with a private practice in Aveiro, also offering online sessions. I graduated in Psychology from Middlesex University in London and later completed my specialization in Clinical and Health Psychology at the Catholic University of Porto.
I have solid experience in individual psychotherapy with adults, as well as in couple and sexual therapy, and I also provide support to families, parenthood, and pregnancy. Throughout my career, I have worked in healthcare and research institutions both in Portugal and abroad. Therefore, I have dealt with a wide range of issues, such as depression, anxiety, burnout, addictions, and eating disorders.
Beyond my professional work, I am passionate about nature and the ocean; moreover, I practice surfing and embrace mindfulness principles in my daily life. As a result, I strive to live in harmony with the present moment while promoting balance and well-being in both personal and professional contexts.
Appointments
To schedule an appointment with me, you can contact me at (+351969523105) or send me an email at psicologa.inescapela@gmail.com. I am available for both in-person appointments in Aveiro and online sessions (Zoom meetings). I work with national and international clients (Portuguese, Spanish, and English). I am available for any further clarifications.
In addition to psychological therapy, I have experience as a facilitator of workshops and retreats focused on promoting mental health and well-being. I regularly organize these types of initiatives – if you would like to stay updated on these activities, subscribe follow me on my Instagram psicologa_inescapela.
Another service I provide is the combination of my two greatest passions: psychology and surfing. Surf Therapy is an approach that uses surfing as a therapeutic tool, promoting self-awareness, stress management, and improving emotional well-being. The main goal of Surf Therapy is to promote the teachings of surf practice (e.g., adaptability, resilience, emotional regulation, overcoming fear, creativity, mental clarity, sense of belonging, connection) and foster mental health through the surfer mentality and lifestyle.
I have a partnership with PortoSurf.Femmes, a surf school located in Espinho, which, in addition to teaching the practice of surfing, fosters the creation of a community and well-being through surfing. Those interested in individual sessions, group sessions, or Surf Therapy retreats can contact me via phone or email, as well as get in touch with PortoSurf.Femmes.
