Therapy Models

Narrative Therapy

Narrative Therapy helps individuals understand how they tell and interpret their experiences, focusing on the impact of words and how they shape our reality. This approach believes that the stories we build about ourselves have the power to influence our identity and choices. The therapy works with processes of agency, re-authoring, and re-signification, helping people reinterpret and rewrite their stories, allowing them to see their experiences from new perspectives and find more adaptive ways to cope with challenges.

Positive Psychology:

Positive Psychology is a therapy that strengthens the resources, qualities, skills, and protective factors of each individual, focusing on strengths rather than deficits. This approach promotes a resilient, mindful, creative mindset that focuses on developing problem-solving skills. By strengthening each person’s internal strengths, it helps create a solid foundation for well-being and satisfaction, encouraging the creation of a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Mindfulness

As a third-generation therapy, Mindfulness promotes the connection between body, mind, and life purpose, based on values such as compassion, gratitude, and non-judgment. This model combines Eastern beliefs and medicine with modern psychology, being effective in increasing awareness and presence in the moment, reducing stress and anxiety, and promoting a more balanced and focused life. Mindfulness helps individuals develop greater self-acceptance and acceptance of their experiences, improving emotional regulation and the ability to cope with daily challenges in a more conscious way.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a model that explains the interaction between what we think and feel, helping to understand and change our behaviors. This model is one of the most empirically robust, widely used in various therapeutic protocols. Through cognitive restructuring, CBT helps individuals identify dysfunctional thought patterns and modify them, promoting changes in behavior and emotions. It is one of the most effective models for treating issues such as anxiety, depression, and phobias.

Systemic Models

Systemic Models understand the individual through their experiences, culture, and the impact their family had on their formation and development. This approach analyzes interactions within family systems or other relationally significant contexts, recognizing that individual issues are often linked to systemic dynamics and influences. By understanding these interactions, the goal is to promote positive change and restore balance within the system, helping to resolve problems affecting the family as a whole, such as conflicts, dysfunctional patterns, and communication difficulties.
